Story Time

Jimmy popped in on Logan in the tub laying down with one of Everly's washcloths on his chest.  Jimmy asks what he's up to, as Logan pours some water over the washcloth.  "Dad, it's my manta ray.  I'm calming him down.  The water calms him down."

Earlier today, Logan shows me his Pterodactyl stuffed animal.  He tells me he recently lost his dad, so he's sad.  He apparently lives up by the light in his room.

This all can happen, however Logan the other day wanted a Dragon Party for dinner one night.  We were having some Chinese food Jimmy cooked up.  I told Logan we're having a China party.  He was less than thrilled as he does not like "China" food.  I told him we even have a dragon!  Jimmy calls the tubes of diapers that we throw away (compliments of our diaper genie) "poop dragons."  I told Logan for our fun activity we will get to take the poop dragon for an adventure to the dumpster.  Logan was insistent it was not a dragon.  Back and forth we argued about his need to use his imagination and him telling me poop dragons are not real.   Maybe it was lack of sleep or something, but I was doubled over in laughter over my sons ridiculousness...probably you'd have to be there.  Actually probably not...Jimmy was not laughing as he was getting tired of the overemotional bit from both of us.  What a night.

Ironic how some days Logan's imagination is detailed and with even unusual objects such as a washcloth and other days I need to tell him to use his imagination.

If I'm posting, may as well add photos.  Everly is getting into story time even.  She quietly listens the entire time.
