Pirate Party

Logan had his long awaited pirate party.  I had so much fun planning and decorating.  Logan is hilarious...he woke up that morning and asked if he looked bigger (because we all know when we turn the next age, we grow overnight).  He is quite proud of being bigger.  He states over and over, "I'm a strong guy."  He'll point out that in his car seat his head is almost reaching the top.  It's cute...but somewhere inside, the mother voice is saying "stop. STOP.  It's too soon."  Doesn't time slow down as they get older...thought it was just a baby thing, but no...even at 4 years old I feel that way.

The party was great.  We invited our Joy School friends which was a perfect group.  We were moving the very next day so this came together perfect in using my parents place.

Of course every pirate party needs a treasure map in search of treasure.  I got a party pack from Amazon and at each stop we got an addition to their pirate garb.  The kids seemed to enjoy it.  At the very end we had a "walk the plank" that led to the treasure (gold chocolate coins) in a treasure box, half buried in Nana's sandbox.

While chicken nuggets and french fries were cooking we had a little game of clear the cannons.  The kids were split into 2 teams.  The "cannons" (black balloons) were put on the tape in the center.  The kids had to push the balloons to the other side as much as possible while we counted to 10.  Then we would see which team had the most cannons on their ship.  The kids got a kick out of it.  It was played only over and over and over...

Nana made this fabulous cake.  It tasted as great as it looked.  And boy was this kiddo impressed!

Happy 4th Birthday Logan!!
